Des Moines, WA – The Seattle Southside Business website launched in July and can be found online at www.seattlesouthsidebusiness.com. The website highlights Southwest King County as a growing area of opportunity and is a dynamic resource for real estate brokers, investors, developers and business owners who may be looking for expansion possibilities.
Seattle Southside includes the cities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, and Tukwila. Despite the current economic slowdown, the Seattle Southside region expects to undergo tremendous growth and is poised to capitalize on it with major transportation initiatives and mixed-use developments in the works over the next 10 to 15 years.
This growth is seen in Burien’s new downtown, the Des Moines waterfront, SeaTac’s hotels and restaurants, Tukwila’s growing Westfield Southcenter shopping mall, and Sound Transit’s recent opening of the Link Light Rail route between Seattle and Tukwila. These initiatives showcase the vibrant, fast growing communities that make up Seattle Southside and that are attractive to businesses and potential residents alike.
The Seattle Southside Business website features information on the area’s business climate and demographics, pertinent economic and real estate data, and the ability to search commercial real estate listings. It also includes real estate development opportunities that are on the drawing board or in the planning stages. The website gives readers a chance to see Seattle Southside for themselves via an informative overview video. The video features the region’s many assets and includes interviews with successful business owners – all of whom point to the benefits of a Seattle Southside location.
“Seattle Southside cannot be overlooked as a convenient, cost-effective business location or destination of choice for real estate investment and development,” said Highline Community College President Jack Bermingham. “Businesses in Seattle Southside have quick, easy access to all major highways and Sea-Tac Airport for international business. This is enhanced by the Link Light Rail station currently online in Tukwila and the new station coming online soon in SeaTac. These transportation initiatives alone offer incredible retail and mixed use development opportunities to connect communities. Combined with the region’s diverse population and an abundance of educational and training opportunities, Seattle Southside is rich with prospect.”
The Seattle Southside Business website is a project of the Southwest King County Economic Development Initiative (SKCEDI), a partnership between the cities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac and Tukwila as well as Highline Community College, King County, and the Port of Seattle. SKCEDI members work to stimulate quality business investment and real estate development in Southwest King County and are dedicated to increasing job opportunities and income for its residents.
